FIDELIS II February 2026 offers interest rates of up to 7.25% on government bonds in lei and euros. Tax-free income and special tranches for blood donors.

During the period February 06-13, 2026, the Ministry of Finance is conducting the second edition of this year's FIDELIS government bonds program. Investors have access to a new round of secure financial instruments, with attractive interest rates in lei and euro, listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange. Income obtained from FIDELIS government bonds is tax-exempt, which keeps them among the most efficient saving and investment options for individuals, in an economic context marked by uncertainty and interest rate adjustments. Compared to the January 2026 FIDELIS edition, the interest rates offered in February have been slightly reduced for most maturities, both in lei and euro. This adjustment reflects the decline in yields on the government bond market and signals of easing inflationary pressures. Who can invest? The FIDELIS program is intended for resident and non-resident individuals over the age of 18. Subscriptions can be made through partner banks: BT Capital Partners & Banca Transilvania, BCR, BRD – Groupe Société Générale, UniCredit Bank and TradeVille (in partnership with Libra Bank). Eligible documents include blood donor certificates, donor cards, or any other document certifying donor status, issued starting from August 1, 2025, according to conditions set by the Ministry of Finance. Benefits of FIDELIS government bonds Tax-exempt interest for individuals; Listing on the Bucharest Stock Exchange, with the possibility of selling before maturity; Diversification across maturities between 2 and 10 years; High accessibility, through reduced nominal value; Safety, as the bonds are guaranteed by the Romanian state. Context and comparison with the January edition Compared to the January 2026 FIDELIS edition, the interest rates in February are lower by approximately 0.20–0.35 percentage points, both for lei and euro tranches. This evolution indicates a normalization of the state's financing costs and a possible stabilization of the macroeconomic environment. Even after these adjustments, FIDELIS government bonds continue to offer competitive yields compared to bank deposits, especially for longer maturities and for investors seeking predictable income. Conclusion for the FIDELIS II edition of February 2026 FIDELIS II February 2026 confirms the transition to a stage of more moderate interest rates, but retains the key advantages of the program: safety, tax-exempt income, and easy access for individual investors. For those anticipating a continued decline in yields, locking in fixed interest rates for the medium and long term remains a relevant strategy.
